Hi everyone,
My name is Matt Quinlan and welcome to "A Journey In Filmmaking". The whole purpose of this blog is so I can record my journey from student to professional, show people the life of an online Full Sail student, and hopefully help some people along the way. I am currently enrolled at Full Sail University in their online program for Digital Cinematography.
Now I know what you are thinking, "you can't learn filmmaking online!". That is very true, which is why I am not learning it online. I am using Full Sail University as a tool to increase my technical knowledge and to encourage myself to constantly be creating. I am a firm believer in, you get what you put into something. So my goal it to put my heart into these classes and the projects associated with them so I can push myself to be a better filmmaker.
For instance, over the last four weeks I have created a project every week for my Behavioral Science class (you can find the videos below) so even though I may not specifically be learning filmmaking tools I am still sharpening my craft.
Regards of what you think of Full Sail, or what you think of online classes, I hope that you will stick around and watch the journey. It's sure to be an interesting one. Right now I just finished my second class, Behavioral Science, will be starting my new classes this next month. So far I have recieved 100% on everything, we will see how long I can keep that up. My plan is to post at least once a week along with a video project I create each week. Even if I don't have a video assignment due, I hope to be able to create at least a small one every week.
